About Tammy

Hey there. I'm Tammy. Mom of 3 grown kids, educator for 30+ years, and now a passionate health and nutrition coach empowering mamas to make the best decisions possible when it comes to the health of their families.

While raising my 3 kids, I did what I thought was best for our family when it came to nutrition. I faithfully meal planned every single week, even in our busiest seasons, made what I considered to be nutritious meals, and my husband and I always prioritized eating dinner together as a family.

But when my husband had a heart attack in 2013 at the age of 45, I started down a new journey of learning about health and nutrition.

To say I felt overwhelmed by the vast information available about diets and nutrition would be a gross understatement.

Vegan, vegetarian, paleo, Mediterranean, low carb, high protein, keto, gluten-free, calories, fat grams, counting points, weighing your food, cage-free, free-range, grass-fed, wild-caught, farm-raised…What does all of this mean and what should we be doing? The list of things to research went on and on.

I discovered that quite a bit of the food I was purchasing and the meals that I was preparing were not as nutritious as I thought they were.

The information that I had been looking at on food labels was not the information that mattered.

It was all so confusing!

I spent countless hours weeding through information and misinformation and

educating myself and my family.

Through a lot of research and trial and error, I learned that being healthy is so much more than diet and exercise, and that there is no one-size-fits-all solution

As we learned, we made small, yet sustainable changes to improve our overall health.

The teacher in me wanted to help other moms avoid all of the confusion and conflicting information.

I started a blog to share recipes and science-based information about what I was learning and what we were doing to eat nutritious meals and live healthy lifestyles.

I became so passionate that I became a certified Integrative Health and Nutrition Coach through the Institute of Integrative Nutrition.

I've taken my years of experience as a mom and teacher and combined them with my knowledge of health and wellness to educate, empower, and inspire mamas to take care of themselves and their families.

I've done the hard work of sorting through the overwhelming amount of information out there, and have empowered my clients to take control of their health by guiding them to make small, sustainable changes in their own lives that will have a generational impact on their families.
